Description

This American officer's saber dates around 1810. Shape of the eagle pommel is characteristic of the castings produced by Henry Osborn in Birmingham. The hilt itself is exactly the same as the one pictured on pages 106-107 of the Mowbray book. 29.5" blade has corrosion towards the point, which is slightly bent. Remnants of etching are visible at the forte. Brass hilt is deeply patinated, with no play. Bone grip is free of cracks.
