US M1888 SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR .45-70 RIFLE

This Springfield Model 1888 trapdoor single-shot rifle is in untouched, uncleaned condition. I've only oiled the trapdoor to allow me to see the condition of the rifling, which is sound and radiant, but quite dirty, as is the rest of the rifle. Lock functions 100%. Serial number 98152. Master Armorer's cartouche is dated 1891. There is a small crack at the breach, which does not extend through the wood. The cartouches are quite prominent. Butt end has some old oil paint splotches. This is a great night or weekend clean-up project that would end up looking rejuvenated and revitalized, after being cared for by a patient collector!
