Description

This American M1836 dragoon pistol was made by Asa Waters of Millbury, Massachusetts in 1839. It's in original flintlock configuration, with light inspector's cartouches behind the sideplate. Proof marks are on the bottom of the barrel breech [not photographed] . Bottom of the fore-end has a small period wood repair. Mechanism functions fine. Lock plate and cock retain most of their case-hardened surface. Caliber is the standard .54.

A very good Mexican War period US cavalry pistol, the last model flintlock produced for the US armed forces.
