US M1833 DRAGOON SWORD BY AMES

This US Model 1833 Dragoon trooper's saber dates ca.1834-1839, and was produced by the famous Nathan Ames Company in Springfield, Ma. Pipe-back blade is pitted, leather wrap is gone from the hilt, the inspector's markings on the back of the brass hilt are strong. This type of saber was carried by the US Dragoons in the Second Seminole and Mexican Wars.
