Description

This Nathan Starr 1812-1813 contract cavalry saber bears the standard 34" blade, which shows beautiful patina. Blade is marked with the inspector's cartouche and proofs. Hilt is tight, grip leather has hardened with time. Iron scabbard retains much of its original japanning, and has some superficial scratches. Bottom half of the scabbard has a small roundish indentation, possibly from a musket ball. A great and historic War of 1812 American cavalry sword!
