US ARMY 113TH INFANTRY REGIMENT SWEETHEART BROOCH

$0.00

Description

This World War I US ARMY 133th Infantry Regiment sweetheart brooch is quite exquisitely done in enamel and yellow metal, featuring the regimental motto FIDELIS ET FORTIS - FAITHFUL AND STRONG. Most probably made in France, while the 133th was stationed there, which is substantiated by the four fleur de lies embossed on the back of the piece. One of the most decorated regiments in the US Army, it took part in the Civil War at the Battle of the Bull Run, in World War I at Meuse-Argonne, in Alsace and in Lorraine. During World War II it came back to Europe, and served with distinction in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes, Aleutian Islands and in Japan. The dimensions of the piece are roughly 60x40 mm. It has a loop at the top, in addition to the pin, and can be worn as a pendant. A neat little piece, and quite well-made.
