This Sumatran ache siskin dates to the mid-19th century, perhaps earlier. The solid silver hilt is truly a work of art, superb in every aspect. Grip is almost 20 cm-long, and the style of silver decorations is evocative of Burma. This isn't the style of hilt usually associated with the siskin swords. Thick, 55 cm-long Aceh Silkin Panjang blade has a single deep fuller at the top. The blade shows striations of laminated steel. Quality of the blade is better than any other siskin I have seen.
