Description
This interesting 19th c. hunting knife/dagger is of Mexican or the Southwestern US origin. Blade is 27.5 cm long, probably from a cut-down epee or rapier blade, of indistinctly rhomboid profile, gradually becoming elliptical. Both edges still retain their sharpness. Handle is 12 cm long, of deer antler, with a silver muzzle ferrule in the middle, perhaps was used as a plug bayonet. Recurred quillons are of a simple and sturdy workmanship, and provide some degree of protection to the hand.
