Description
This wonderful nimcha is mounted with a straight 72 cm long blade which is profusely marked on both sides with Genovese eyelashes as well as other multiple symbols and cartouches. Blade is massive and thick. Grip is horn, mounted in the traditional way. Original scabbard is lacquered wood, with en suite mounts. Wood has split on the scabbard edges. The patina on the steel parts of the hilt and the scabbard is uniform and attractive. The sword is tight, heavy, and a no-nonsense fighting weapon, dating from the 18th to the mid-19th c.
