This attractive and well-made kyu gunto sword dates ca.1920-1940. Hilt is nicely-cast in fine detail, 74 cm long machined blade has a hamon on the obverse side, and is straight and true, with a factory mirror-shine. Scabbard has some bubbling of the nickel-plate, but no flaking or rust. A very satisfying WWII-period Japanese infantry officer's kyu gunto overall.
