This nicely-hilted Japanese officer's gunto sword features a plain, plated blade 74 cm-long. Blade has been period-sharpened, there's some bubbling of the plating near the hilt, otherwise quite sound. Hilt is of beautiful workmanship, with nicely hand-chased floral decorations. Ray-skin on the grip is not torn or cracked, wrap is missing some wire, otherwise nice and tight. Scabbard is in good shape, the catch on the scabbard throat is weak. A nice and honest World War 2 Japanese officer's gunto.
