This 17th/18th century Indo-Persian shamshir-e-tulwar is mounted with a 77 cm. blade with yelman. Blade is of wootz watered steel, decorated with fine gold koftgari on both sides at the forte.
The hilt is steel, with silver inlay. Sword shows age, and the blade would require careful cleaning and etching, to uncover the fine damascus pattern, which is still visible in a few areas, now covered by patina.
