This wonderful ca.1900 Imperial German naval officer's sword bears a 79 cm pipe-back blade in fine damascus and gold-wash, and is marked Eisnehauer Damaststahl. The quality of the engraved decorations is quite superb, and includes various naval symbols. Blade has minor dark spots towards the point; gold-wash is completely intact, with no losses. The gold-washed hilt is also done in great detail. Grip has a narrow age fracture on the reverse side. Hilt is tight, with no play. Original scabbard fits the sword perfectly. The quality of the damascus blade is quite stunning!
