This massive Caucasus kindjal shows characteristics of the Georgian manufacture, possibly from the Western Georgia region, and dates ca.1850-1880, the time of Russia's Colonial Wars in that region.
Multi-fullered blade is 47 cm long and 4 cm wide at the hilt, with maker's mark in a form of poppy flowers. Horn grip is decorated with silver tacks.
A very nice, fighting-quality kindjal.
