The original sword that George Washington wore for his inauguration, now rests in Morristown National Historic Park -

This is an exact replica of that sword. Hilt is done entirely in sterling silver, with London hallmarks for 1976. Plaque indicates that 1000 swords were made to commemorate the bicentennial of the American Revolution. Blade is colichemarde by Wilkinson, numbered on the heel 291, with a corresponding certificate from the US Bicentennial Society.

Condition of the sterling silver hilt is superb, with a wonderful patina. The quality of the hilt is first rate.

Colichemarde blade is 72 cm / 28.5" long, and 3 cm wide at the ricasso, decorated in 18th century style strap-work and floral sprays. There is some staining on the forte.

These small-swords rarely come up on the market. This one is complete with a solid oak mounting board, and all the supplied documents.

Wooden mounting board is heavy, extra postal charge will apply.
