Description

This European ca.1790 iron-hilted light cavalry sword is mounted with a 85 cm long blade, and is 98 cm. long overall. Blade has a single wide fuller on each side, running almost to the point. Traces of decorations are visible on one side, in the form of a series of stars. The sword is tight, with a thick uniform patina to the hilt. An honest old veteran of the earliest days of the French Wars, it complies with the British 1788 Pattern, as well as the Russian 1798, and various other European Armies' patterns of that time.
