This outstanding iron-hilted European hussar sword dates to the second half of 18th century. The exact origin of the sword is difficult for me to ascertain; it could be from one of the German States, Austria, Polish Kingdom, or Russian.
79 cm long blade is nicely engraved with talismanic and military symbols. Blade has acquired a nice uniform patina, with a touch of light pitting towards the point. Remnants of the dried up leather are present on the grip. The brass wire is completely intact. A very attractive early hussar-hilted sword.
