This fine 18th c. large hunting side knife is 39 cm. long overall, a bears a 28 cm. long blade with a 15 cm. long false edge. Blade is beautifully etched and hand-chased on both sides. Among the decorations are a Turk in a large turban, holding a yataghan; the other side features a large military bounty display, all on the nice floral background. Checkered grip is in fine shape, the quillons are shaped as eagles heads. Old collection tag is on the pommel capstan. A fine, uniform patina on this fine knife, which has South German, perhaps Austrian or Hungarian origins.
