Stylistically of Germanic origin, the hand-chased bronze hilt is richly-decorated in low relief Rococo motifs against fine stippled background. The deep boat-shaped guard is up-turned and bifurcated to straddle the anterior quillon. Tri-fold, hollow-ground blade is 66 cm-long, and the sword is quite well-balanced.
