Description
This massive Danish Jægerhirschfænger M.1801 is in outstanding original condition. Brass hilt terminates in a lion's head pommel, with a steel screw connecting the knuckle-guard to the lion's mouth. The fine details of the lion's head are nicely done, down to the little teeth. Brass wire grip wrap is completely original. Heavy 63 cm-long unfullered blade is marked with the Frederiksværk cartouche at the reverse ricasso. The same mark is also stamped on the reverse side of the quillon.
