Description
This well-made British 1822 Pattern cavalry officer's sword is unmarked, and falls under the category of "maybe" in the Civil War Confederate sword vernacular. Certainly swords of this style were imported by the Confederacy, however without the markings, it would be a stretch to identify it as such. Sword is very tight, ray-skin covered grip is dry and somewhat brittle. Pipe-back quill-point blade is of excellent quality, and is very exciting visually. Overall, a very appealing cavalry officer's fighting sword.
