This gorget dates ca.early 1800s, to the French Revolutionary Wars, Napoleonic War and the War of 1812.
This beautiful Georgian officer's gorget retains much of its original fire gilding, with minor wear to the front. Nicely engraved with the crowned GR and olive branches, it measures 9.5 cm wide, and 11.5 cm long. The inside is nicely patinated, and shows the hammering marks.
