Description

This Cattaraugus 225Q features a massive 6-1/2" blade, which retains most of its factory polish, with a sharp factory edge and some minor spotting. The steel parts of the handle have acquired a beautiful patina. Sheath is in fine shape, and would merit from some light cleaning.

This was, ounce for ounce, the strongest, most well-made US combat knife in hands of the WWII Army troopers, Navy men and the Marines.

An unusual characteristic is that the sheath was constructed specifically for wear on the left side, for easy drawing with the left hand, while the right one had a Colt .45. This is the only WWII US combat knife sheath to have been designed this way.
