BRITISH ROYAL IRISH DRAGOON GUARDS HELMET CA.1850

This 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards officer's helmet dates from the Crimean War period or just after. Condition is outstanding, with small areas of wear to the bell and of the visor. Helmet is complete with the chin strap leather, as well as the canvas inner liner, all original and period. The white horse hair plume was to replace the black plume immediately after the Crimean War. A remarkable, expressive piece!
