This European, possibly Bavarian foot soldier's sidearm is hilted in the manner of the French Model 1767 grenadier hanger. I would date it circa 1790-1810, American Revolutionary War to Battle of Waterloo. Blade is 69.5 cm long, nicely patinated and has areas of shallow pitting. Cast brass hilt is marked on the quillon, but I cannot decipher the marking.
