Traditions of the glory days of the past were well-alive in the selection of the blades on the Germanic officers' personal arms, and this particular sword is no exception. Note the talismanic symbols on the three sides of the ricasso, all finely done in gold-washed relief. Gold-wash is also present on the narrow fullers. Blade measures at respectable 86.5 cm. The sword is finely-balanced. A beautiful, unique piece!
