This Turkish Islamic pistol dates to the late 18th century, and was modeled after a French military pistol of the same vintage. Lock mechanism is in very good shape, and the pistol cocks fine. Of much better quality than most of its contemporaries, unfortnately it has suffered minor crude repairs to the wood, with what appears to be epoxy, which is flaking and can be picked out, and then inexpensively repaired in a proper fashion. Slender goose-neck hammer, along with a curled-back trigger, brass side-straps, all are reminiscent of the French martial flintlocks of the mid to late 1700s. Barrel is decorated with inlaid brass details. Obviously an antique, it's definitely not recommended to fire this pistol.
