This Sevastopol-found Crimean War button dates ca.1855, and ostensibly was part of the regimental piper's uniform. It's 2cm per side, 2.5cm across. The shank is present!!! Button was fabricated by Gilpin. Condition is quite good. Lettering and stamping detail are terrific.
This is a fabulous memento from the brave 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot, which stood fast in the Thin Red Line.
