This sterling silver naval officer's dirk dates to the early years of the 19th century. Blade is 23 cm long, etched on both sides in floral and coral motifs for half its length. The furniture of the hilt as well as the scabbard are sterling silver. The grip is horizontally scrolled. The quillons are in the shape of acorns. The scabbard is nicely engraved with palm leaves and branches. The cross-guard is a bit loose.
