This fine American seven-ball eagle pommel spadroon is in uncleaned, estate-fresh condition, and dates to the first quarter of 19th century. Massive blade is 31" long, finely etched with martial and floral motifs, along with a parrot-like federal eagle and 13 stars. There are several nicks on the cutting edge of the blade and some dark spotting, which should clean up well. Silver-plate on the hilt and scabbard mounts is mostly intact and is covered with wonderful uniform patina.
A very good early American open-beaked eagle pommel sword.
